The duck that thinks it’s a pigeon (see ‘If it looks like a duck…‘) came back, so by popular demand (popular being a coder from Zeeland who suspects the inhabitants of Amsterdam couldn’t tell a cow from carton of milk), I managed to take one (very bad) picture.
Yes, it’s a friggin’ duck. It quacked, okay?

Barcamp, Next Web and other (un)conferences

Barcamp Amsterdam IV last saturday was great. Met some cool people with awesome projects, ideas and startups, really motivated me to get back in the game. Kicking myself for not going to the Next Web (heard some great stories about the afterparty…) on my on dime, I’ve gotten way too used to being an wage slave…
Will definitely be going to Kings of Code, and Peter-Paul ‘Quirksmode’ Koch will be organizing a new conference this september that could be worth while. Pleasant surprise to run in to him at a Barcamp btw.

- see if Yolanda is interested in Marcel van der Drift’s totally awesome work

(Meeting Fred from the Edingburgh based startup Textsensor really made me want to go back there again. Lovely city, great people. I just uploaded some of our holiday pictures to Flickr last friday, can’t be a coincidence.)

Diner @Freud

Diner at Freud last night, where the entire staff consist of ex-psychiatric patients. Food was decent, chocolate cake dessert was yummie… almost worth missing the live recording of Diggnation just a few hundred meters away.
